Here's the policy for domestic sales of EnergyCAP to public school districts and other organizations.

Study Yields Convincing Results
Steve Heinz, EnergyCAP, Inc.'s president and designer of EnergyCAP and FASER Energy Accounting, explained, "In early 2003, we conducted a detailed study of public school districts’ results in using energy accounting software under various conditions. The study covered a time period of 20 years and more than 500 separate school districts. We found that those school districts that used energy accounting software in conjunction with Energy Education’s district-wide comprehensive energy management program were FIVE times more likely to be successful, long-term software users than those schools that had purchased and used it on their own.

Comprehensive Energy Management
“Both FASER and EnergyCAP are designed to be an integral part of a multifaceted energy management program that includes facility management, investigative energy auditing, and data and billing analysis. Without the ongoing expert assistance provided by Energy Education in these areas, most of the self-initiated school-district energy programs we studied were unable to realize the full benefits of our energy accounting software and, more importantly, had difficulty sustaining their energy savings program. Since our objective is to help schools be good stewards of limited energy and financial resources, it would be counterproductive to sell software in situations where there is a low probability of long-term success."
