5 Reasons to Come to Catalyst 2023

There are plenty of excellent reasons to register for Catalyst 2023—advanced and beginner training sessions, expert speakers and panels, staying on top of latest industry trends and hot topics.

But in case you’re still on the fence about whether or not to attend, we hope that we can sway you with our list of 5 reasons why you should.

1. Ice cream.

Now that we have your attention, did you know about the BBQ Social at the EnergyCAP office? At 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th, you’re invited to join us for lunch, activities, and you guessed it—Penn State’s delicious Berkey Creamery ice cream.

In case you didn’t know, Penn State’s Berkey Creamery is the largest university creamery in the U.S.. It uses 4.5 million pounds of milk annually, half of which comes straight from the cows at the University’s Dairy Production Research Center.

Fun fact: Ben & Jerry learned the basics of ice cream manufacturing by attending a Penn State Creamery course on ice cream making in 1978!

2. Get outside.

Maybe we’re a little biased, but we think there’s no better place to be than central Pennsylvania in the springtime. Taking advantage of our many beautiful nature trails and smelling the spring flora is always a great way to shake that wintertime funk.

You’ll be learning a lot at Catalyst, and studies show that walking has a positive effect on thinking and creativity. So, after a long day of learning, you may benefit from an easy stroll along beautiful Spring Creek at Fisherman’s Paradise, a hot spot for fly fishing enthusiasts and wild brown trout. Or if you’re the adventurous type, you may prefer to strap on your hiking boots and climb Mt. Nittany—the view at the top is worth the trek! Both of these locations are just 10 minutes away from the Penn Stater Conference Center.

3. Yoga.

Travel can be tough. Your physical and mental health is important, and we know that planes, trains, and automobiles might leave you feeling cramped and sore. So, rise and shine with us on Tuesday and Wednesday morning for yoga!

Set the tone for your day and stretch out your stems with EnergyCAP’s Senior Technical Writer and Fitness Fanatic, Mary Ann. This class is open to all levels and participants will receive a complimentary yoga mat.

4. Answer your questions.

Rattled by reports? Curious about CarbonHub? Wondering about Wattics? Challenged by chargebacks? We’ve got oodles of alliterations, but we’ll just stop there and get to the point.

Catalyst is a perfect opportunity to have all of your burning questions answered. Schedule a one-on-one meeting with an EnergyCAP Expert and walk through your issues together or bring up your quandaries over beer at Happy Hour! We are dedicated to seeing you achieve your energy and sustainability goals, so whether it’s in a training room or at Happy Hour, we’re all ears.

5. Fun!

Catalyst isn’t just the perfect chance to learn, hear from industry experts, and get your questions answered—it’s also a good time!

You can mix and mingle with peers in similar industries at the Networking Happy Hour and attend an off-site event. On Wednesday night, come unwind at Champs Downtown—a unique space that offers pinball machines, arcade games, and pool tables.
