The initial first-year purchase of EnergyCAP includes two main fees: Software License and Professional Start-Up Services. The software license fee, offered in both annual and perpetual options, is based on the software features you select.

The professional services fee includes the scope of work to get EnergyCAP implemented and your staff trained. Service offerings include implementation assistance, database hosting, database conversions, system interface development, custom development of features or reports, training services, initial Bill CAPture bill processing services, or any other service required for a successful system deployment.

After the initial purchase (of a perpetual license), there is an annual fee for the EnergyCAP Maintenance Agreement (ECMA). The ECMA is included in annual licensing, and provides access to technical support, regular software upgrades, and access to data services (Weather Data, Greenhouse Gas factors, ENERGY STAR interface). All pricing is highly dependent on a number of factors such as total number of meters, advanced features required, and professional services needed.

What Is a Meter?

A meter is a unique point of tracking or service ID found on a utility bill and tracked by utility accounts. Typically, one utility bill account includes one meter (electric, gas, or water). However, some utility bills have multiple accounts, meters, or commodities (gas and electric) on the same bill. Other utilities do not have a physical meter (trash, recycling, sewer, or telecom). Each point of utility bill service counts as a meter.

EnergyCAP Enterprise provides the flexibility for you to host the system on-premise or we can host it for you in our commercial datacenter. For Express and Professional versions we host it as a Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) offering.

Our commercial co-location facility has secure access, redundant power sources, high-speed Internet providers, and complies with SSAE-16 standards. Databases are backed up nightly to onsite and offsite locations. Data ownership resides with you and can be exported at any time.

Implementation & Training

To ensure successful deployment of EnergyCAP we offer professional implementation start-up and training services that differ according to version.

Enterprise Version:

An EnergyCAP project manager assists with the process and provides training services.

  • Implementation is performed on a total project basis.
  • A one-time fee applies for the project management, extended initial support services, data manipulation/conversion (as required), systems interfaces, and training services.
  • The scope of each EnergyCAP implementation is unique; therefore, service fees vary by project.
  • Training is performed either onsite at your training facility or online via web conference.
  • An annual maintenance agreement ensures customer support and access to all upgrades.

Express Version:

A special Quick Start program can get you started quickly if your needs require immediate implementation.

  • Extended project implementation assistance and training options are available.
    Numerous help resources and training videos are available for continued education.
  • Specific pricing will be quoted to you by an EnergyCAP account executive after the scope of your EnergyCAP project is determined.
  • An annual maintenance agreement ensures customer support and access to all upgrades.
