2017: An EnergyCAP Year in Preview

running-at-the-gym.jpg“A new year, a new me.”

It’s a phrase I’ve heard numerous times over the past three weeks, and I witness vigorous attempts to live up to the cliché every January when I walk into my local fitness facility. Of course, by February, the traffic has gotten back to “normal.”

But unlike most of those “resolutioners” at my gym, EnergyCAP’s corporate commitment to a 2017 makeover is a promise you can take to the bank. In today’s blog, I’d like to share some events that will become exciting reality in the next 12 months.

But first, you can “rest” assured that product leadership and customer intimacy remain EnergyCAP hallmarks, and we’re not going to change that in 2017. We’re going to stick with what we do best:

  • Continuing product innovation
  • Expanding and enhancing our service offerings
  • Adding and training customer-focused personnel
  • Delivering a value-packed annual training conference

Specifically, here is what you can look forward to in 2017.

Smart CAPture™

Thanks to SmartMeter technology, interval data is more readily available today than ever. Vendor-owned smart meters are becoming the norm, and more and more organizations are installing submeters. At EnergyCAP, we recognize the tremendous energy management value of interval data–which helps identify problems and savings opportunities that aren’t visible, apparent, or timely with monthly utility bills–and we want to make sure EnergyCAP users benefit from it. That’s why we’re developing our Smart CAPture service.

With Smart CAPture in place in 2017, an organization’s interval data (15-minute, 30-minute, 60-minute, daily, etc.) can be accessed and imported into EnergyCAP via an automated process. The interval data will then be available for analysis through a variety of new EnergyCAP Channel reports:

Smart CAPture functionality, pricing, and service terms are still being developed, but stay tuned for additional details.

Bill CAPture™ Expansion

Utility bill data entry has long been a pain point for EnergyCAP users, regardless of industry. The primary issue is that the data entry process consumes time that is much better spent on higher-value bill auditing and energy management tasks. That’s why we launched our Bill CAPture service in 2015.

billCAPture_workflow

A subscription to Bill CAPture moves the bill data entry burden from your staff to ours. We can accommodate virtually any utility bill file format, the most common of which are EDI 810, CSV, TXT, and PDF. We can also access bills from your vendor website(s) or scan your paper bills. If your EnergyCAP database is self-hosted, we’ll provide you with a bill data file that is ready to be imported. ECI-hosted customers receive even more benefits, since we can import their bills, run audits, and provide email alerts for any audit failures.

Bill CAPture’s growth trajectory has been steep since its introduction, and today, we process tens of thousands of bills monthly. If you’re not taking advantage of the Bill CAPture service and would consider off-loading the time-consuming task of utility bill data entry, please take a few minutes to view our latest Bill CAPture video at www.billcapture.com

More EnergyCAP’ers to Serve You

We continue to add skilled personnel to our staff to make sure we have the resources required to serve our existing customers, and to on-board new customers in an efficient manner. We are happy to welcome the following new employees this month:

  • Jeremy Amaismeier, Project Engineer
  • Becky Gruber, Technical Support Specialist
  • Greg Elliott, Project Manager
  • Dave Mosemann, Software Developer
  • Zac O’Donnell, Senior Software Developer
  • Jacque Wayman, Bill CAPture Specialist

Recruited through a new Strengths-Based hiring process, these newcomers will accelerate our growth and assure our capability to meet and exceed your expectations for the New Year.

Even More Government-Friendly

GSAAdvantage_full_Color.jpgIn 2015, we established a GSA contract to make it easier for government and other public institutions to purchase and implement EnergyCAP. Numerous organizations have since taken advantage of the discounted pricing and streamlined purchasing process associated with the GSA contract, prompting a soon-to-be-released update and expansion our GSA-offered products and services.

Additionally, we recognize that many federal government organizations prefer or are mandated to host software solutions on premise. Those software solutions are required to meet the Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements, and we expect EnergyCAP to be RMF-certified by Q3 2017.

Public organizations – federal, state, and local governments, universities, and others – that need an energy management solution, like discounted prices, and want to bypass the time-consuming public procurement process should contact us today to learn more about our GSA pricing advantage.

Veteran-vosb-logoWe’ve recently been certified as a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), and we hope that this will provide our prospects with additional motivation to invest in our products and services. Click here to view our certification status at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Productivity Unleashed

Productivity Unleashed is the theme of this year’s Catalyst Training for Savings conference, and we are committed to enhancing the productivity of all the attendees. The productivity theme will be emphasized throughout Catalyst, with a keynote by Productivity Pro and bestselling author Laura Stack. She will also share more of her personal story at the Tuesday Devotional Lunch.

This year’s Catalyst offers 2 ½ days of EnergyCAP user training to help you unleash your productivity. Additionally, a full day of pre-conference productivity training based on Clifton StrengthsFinder will be presented by Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Chris Heinz.

You can learn more about Catalyst at www.energycapcatalyst.com. And “early birds” who register by January 31, 2017 can receive a $100 discount!

We’re excited about our plans for 2017, and we look forward to delivering even more value to you in the weeks and months to come.
