EnergyCAP in School Districts

The thing I like the most about EnergyCAP Online is the ease with which I can drill down to meters that concern me. I’ve found a considerable usage problem at a building with 2 electric meters that had actually been problem for some time but gone unnoticed.

Sales Policy for School Districts

*In general, EnergyCAP is available only to organizations that have an ongoing energy conservation plan by Cenergistic of Dallas, Texas. (Cenergistic is an independent energy conservation company that helps organizations reduce consumption of electricity, natural gas, fuel oil and water through a proprietary, technology-and-data driven method. For more information, please visit  www.Cenergistic.com.)

In early 2003, EnergyCAP, Inc. (ECI) conducted a detailed study of clients’ results in using energy accounting software under various conditions. The study covered a time period of 20 years and more than 500 separate organizations. ECI found that those clients that used energy accounting software in conjunction with Cenergistic’s comprehensive energy management program were FIVE times more likely to be successful, long-term software users than those clients that had purchased and used it on their own.

EnergyCAP is designed to be an integral part of a multifaceted energy management program that includes facility management, investigative energy auditing, and data and billing analysis. Without the ongoing expert assistance provided by Cenergistic in these areas, most of the self-initiated client energy programs ECI studied were unable to realize the full benefits of the energy accounting software and, more importantly, had difficulty sustaining their energy savings program. Since ECI’s objective is to help clients be good stewards of limited energy and financial resources, it would be counterproductive to sell software in situations where there is a low probability of long-term success.
